Truefitt & Hill world’s oldest barbershop and royal warrant holders have opened their doors in Meharchand Market, New Delhi! They have partnered with with LLOYDS Luxuries, a relatively new player in the market. The fact that these guys serve the british royal family is enough for any luxury enthusiast to head their way. They are considered one of the best barbers in the world. Their reviews are glorious across all platforms. So I decided to give them a visit and find out for myself.
Truefitt & Hill is located in the beautiful Meharchand Market, Lodi colony. Finding out the location of this place shouldn’t be difficult once you reach the market or if you don’t know the exact location simply use Google Maps.
Appointment & Services
Appointments can be taken over phone. You can inform them about the time of your visit and they will promptly book it, will even call 10 minutes before the appointment time to ensure if you are coming. As for the services I opted for a classic shave and classic haircut. A classic haircut includes shampoo, haircut and conditioning. A classic shave includes face clean, pre shave lotion and shave. However there are a number of services that you can opt in for like head massage, pedicure, facial and others. Royal categorised services have a component or two more than the classic ones. It all depends on your preference, you know. They charge ₹ 1400 for classic haircut and ₹1400 for classic shave.
Truefitt & Hill, Meharchand Market has a beautiful blue themed outdoor setting. A blue board with Truefitt & Hill embossed on it in white, A blue door and blue lined windows with a huge glass, showcasing reception on the inside. It is very easily spottable once you reach the market. As I entered I was blown away by the beautiful setting. A number of in house shaving and grooming products & accessories are showcased here in rich wooden showcases under a warm white setting. I could really tell that it was built with a 5 star hotel salon setting in mind. Appointment is confirmed and your barber leads you to the Den.
The Den in itself is a fine example of simple beauty. First thing I noticed was what a beautiful piece of music was playing and those melodies kept coming throughout the session. This area has dim white lighting, beautiful high quality seats and wooden flooring has been used instead of marble. Each seat faces a hair wash station so none of those awkward, wet hair walks from the hair wash station to the seat. Each station has a number of Truefitt & Hill products lined up to be used according to preferences of patrons.
Although the process is the same as in all the places but the intricacy with which tasks are performed is different. You can really tell that the barbers are skilled with the way they do things in certain manner. The way towels are placed, products are applied. It’s all has a different feel to it. Each step is thoughtful and calculated, true luxury.
They dint allow me to click pictures, which is understandable. Truefitt & Hill, Meharchand Market really stands out amongst barber service providers for men like Toni & Guy, Affinity, etc. It operates on a different level. A place where one can go and relax. There is no air of rush at this place as can be found in other salons. Each step is thoroughly refined. No reward for quickness. A fresh breeze in a market saturated with different name, same service salons. A truly luxurious experience.
